2018 Detroit Community Development Awards @ Cobo Center | Detroit | Michigan | United States

The 2018 Detroit Community Development Awards presented by the Masco Corporation Foundation will take place on November 8, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom A at Cobo Center.

This premier industry event publicly recognizes the individuals and organizations whose vision, leadership and commitment is successfully transforming Detroit neighborhoods.

This year, we are honoring Detroit and the past, present and future of community development and its leaders.

The Detroit Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) helps neighbors build communities in Detroit by providing capital, technical expertise, training, and information to develop local leadership in creating affordable housing, spurring economic development, and supporting safe neighborhoods.

The Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD) has served as the leading voice for Detroit’s community development industry. CDAD advocates for public policies and resources that  advance the work of nonprofit, community-based organizations in Detroit neighborhoods who are engaged in physical development, land use planning, community organizing, and other activities designed to stabilize and revitalize the quality of life in Detroit.

Michigan Community Resources (MCR) was originally known as Community Legal Resources. They began in 1998 as a project of Michigan Legal Services and the ABA Business Law Section Pro Bono Committee. Over time and directly due to the needs of their clients, they developed community and economic development expertise and enveloped its core principles into our organization’s culture. Michigan Community Resources now provides a more comprehensive array of services for navigating through legal, community organizing, and urban planning issues so that nonprofit organizations can continue to have a positive impact on their respective communities.

Cinnaire helps community development organizations, lending partners and socially motivated investors accomplish goals in underserved communities. They fill gaps in community development funding by leveraging capital from public and private sector organizations and bringing expertise to communities that need it most.
