Approximately 225 representatives of Southeast Michigan’s housing development, design, and finance communities are expected to attend this year’s conference. The conference is an opportunity for attendees to learn more about trends, programs and policies that impact affordable housing development and preservation at the local, state and national levels. Morning plenary sessions will include a panel discussion on national trends in affordable housing, as well as a conversation on best practices in intergovernmental coordination for affordable housing preservation. Later in the day, the Housing and Revitalization Department will present information on the Affordable Housing Leverage Fund, a $250 million initiative to develop and preserve 12,000 units of affordable housing in Detroit. Other sessions will provide attendees with information on issues critical to building and maintaining an inclusive housing market in Detroit.
