Organizations that do not yet have 501(c)(3), but have been operating for at least two years may apply using a fiduciary. DFH x Empty Bowls Detroit: Women’s Bowl Painting Workshop @ The Apparatus Room at The Detroit Foundation Hotel
Feb 16 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

An exciting opportunity to not only gather with other fabulous women to paint a bowl to benefit Empty Bowls Detroit, but to know that your bowl will be used in The Apparatus Room when any customer orders soup from the menu (of which $1 goes to Empty Bowls Detroit each time an order is placed). Bring your mom, your girlfriends, your daughter – or simply bring YOU and meet other women in the process.

Detroit Foundation Hotel and The Apparatus Room are proud to partner with Bonnie Davis Mellos, Empty Bowls Detroit – an organization that raises money and awareness for the food program at Cass Community Social Services (CCSS), a Detroit-based agency dedicated to providing food, housing, health services, and job programs to those in need.

Following the workshop we will be offering short tours of our historic 1929 building for all who are interested – you don’t want to miss out on this special piece of Detroit history!

  • $20 includes your donation to Empty Bowls Detroit, along with painting a bowl that will be used to serve soup in The Apparatus Room – while enjoying mimosas, breakfast pastries, coffee, tea, and water.
  • Metered street parking and valet parking at DFH ($10) are the best options.
  • SPECIAL NOTE: We will also be having another Urban Hike (open to all) on this day if you want to plan to attend both.
