Michigan Community Resources provides an array of services to support organizations that serve low-income communities. Our flagship program is the Pro Bono Legal Assistance Program. This leverages the support of volunteer business attorneys to provide transactional legal services to qualified nonprofits. Since inception in 1998, we have served over 4,200 nonprofits with free legal assistance valued at approximately $25 million.
In addition to our services for nonprofits, through support from JPMorgan Chase, MCR added a special pilot program in 2020 to meet some of the legal needs of community-based small businesses, which contribute greatly to enriching the fabric of Detroit communities.

ACCESS TO JUSTICE
Michigan Community Resources participates in the Access to Justice (ATJ) Campaign and encourages attorney support through the ATJ Fund.
The ATJ Campaign is a collaborative centralized campaign, administered by the Michigan State Bar Foundation in partnership with the State Bar of Michigan, to increase resources for civil legal aid programs in Michigan. 100% of attorney donations will be distributed to support civil legal aid throughout Michigan.
