Shamyle Dobbs (she/her) is the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Michigan Community Resources, where she leads with a steadfast commitment to equity and justice. A native New Yorker, she moved to Michigan in 2001 to pursue her Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan, later earning her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University.
With more than two decades of nonprofit leadership experience—and over 15 years at MCR—Shamyle has built a career at the intersection of law, social work, and community impact. She has led initiatives in program development, project management, strategic planning, and community engagement, while also securing critical resources through grant writing, and advocacy.
Her work is rooted in a passion for dismantling systemic barriers and amplifying the voices of communities of color. Each day, she draws on her expertise and commitment to ensure that organizations and leaders on the ground have the tools they need to thrive.
