ASHLEY JOHNSON

    PROGRAM MANAGER

    RESOURCE NAVIGATION

Ashley Johnson (she/her) joined the Resource Navigation team as a program manager at MCR in March 2023. She works closely with the KIP:D+ grantees by offering support with their projects and creating cohort experiences. She also prioritizes developing relationships with funders and understanding the funding landscape to better help connect nonprofits with financial resources.

Ashley comes to MCR from a background in the nonprofit sector. In 2019, Ashley served as an AmeriCorps member in the Together We Prepare program at the American Red Cross. During her AmeriCorps term, Ashley completed her Master of Anthropology degree with a focus in Applied Anthropology. In 2021, Ashley created and led the Afghan Placement and Assistance program at Samaritas, where she learned the value of connecting nonprofits to one another to create a network of care for a community. She is passionate about supporting and transforming the nonprofit ecosystem in Southeast Michigan in its entirety, because nonprofits serve better together.

Ashley grew up near Flint, Michigan, but moved to Detroit nearly 10 years ago. When she is not working, she is enjoying trips to Eastern Market, reading, or crocheting.
