CALDER BURGAM
LEGAL PROGRAM MANAGER
Calder Burgam (he/him) joined Michigan Community Resources in July 2026 as a Legal Program Manager, working directly with nonprofits. He provides legal guidance or matches organizations with a pro bono attorney who has the right expertise, depending on their needs.
Calder grew up in Muskegon, Michigan. Prior to law school, he spent nearly a decade in the nonprofit sector, most recently as the Community Engagement Coordinator for Arm In Arm, a food security and homelessness prevention organization in Trenton, New Jersey. He has also held positions at the National Institute on Money in Politics and Arts Alliance Illinois. He believes that when nonprofits have strong legal foundations, they can focus their passion and creativity on the problems they were created to solve.
Calder holds a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Kalamazoo College. He practiced commercial litigation at Fink Bressack before joining MCR.
Outside of work, Calder spends as much of his time as he can with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
