LAURIE STERNBERG
PROGRAM MANAGER, LEGAL SERVICES
Laurie Sternberg serves as the part-time Manager of Legal Programs at Michigan Community Resources. An attorney who worked in the past in insurance defense, Laurie gravitated over the years into working in the nonprofit sector. In addition to working as a legal-aid attorney and sitting on nonprofit boards, Laurie spent the last eight years wearing several hats at an Ypsilanti nonprofit. Serving as the organization’s Communications and Development Director, Laurie also managed/expanded its Transportation program, implemented its VISTA program and Client Relationship Management database, and worked on its Strategic Planning committee. This nonprofit experience helps Laurie better understand the myriad of challenges her nonprofit clients face as they seek legal counsel through MCR’s Office Hours program.
Laurie has a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University. Laurie is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan.
