ZACK BISSELL
INTAKE COORDINATOR
Zack Bissell (he/him) joined MCR in July 2025 as Intake Coordinator. He works closely with clients to understand their goals and needs to connect them with MCR’s Resource Navigation and Legal Services teams and shepherd them through the process. He prioritizes being a friendly listener to allow nonprofits to set a pathway on their own terms and to provide compassionate connections to resources.
Prior to MCR, Zack served as Chief Program Officer and Out-of-School Arts Program Manager at Living Arts, where he spent over a decade building up programming and community involvement. He is passionate about involving the community in all aspects of programming and the power of the arts to transform education, communities, and lives.
Zack grew up in a rural Lake Michigan town near Traverse City, Michigan, studied Arts & Humanities, Spanish, and Latin American & Caribbean Studies at Michigan State University, served in AmeriCorps in Albuquerque, New Mexico at a queer community center, and taught English in South Korea. Outside of his professional life, Zack is a musician who plays alto sax, piano, flute, and sings. He currently plays alto sax with the Ferndale Community Concert Band, where he is Vice President. He is also Board Vice President with the Grammy-award-winning Akropolis Reed Quintet. Outside of his love for music, Zack loves gardening and experiencing the world through travel.
